Lacanau lies on the Atlantic Ocean, is a real hotspot in the surf world. The is an annual surf competition here.  The Lacanau-Pro, is the annual international surf contest, which takes place normally in August. For a lot of people this is a highlight of the year. Not only because of the high level of surfing, but also because of the many live performances and awesome party's.



Many professional surfers and old champions still come to Lacanau because of the perfect waves and now give surfing lessons or started their own surf shops. Due to this, Lacanau is has many surf shops, surf schools and many good surf-instructors. After a couple of lessons from these guys you will be confident on the board. Lacanau perfect spot for beginners as well as advanced surfers.



Other than surfing Lacanau offers many other active day and night. During daytime you can visit the boulevard with many markets an terraces. In the evening the boulevard is romantically illuminated and the background is filled with dancing and music. Besides the cozy campfires at the beach, you can also chill-out in a lot of night clubs and pubs that are located thorughout Lacanau. Le Bat Café, le Tex, and la Pergola are very popular. Going to bed early is not necessary.
